Dr. Mark E. Sharp DVM-Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Sharp was born and raised on a farm in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. He immediately began practicing at South County Animal Hospital as an associate until March of 2002 when he and his wife Dr. Leslie Block-Sharp took over ownership.

His primary interests are orthopedic surgery, dentistry, ear cropping with or without patented implantation, and reproduction. A lover of technology, Dr. Sharp is constantly in search of innovative ways to practice veterinary medicine.

Dr. Sharp is a member of the Society for Theriogenology and the American Veterinary Medical Association. His reproductive practice includes fresh-chilled semen collection and shipping, frozen semen shipping and storage, and in vitro fertilization.

Dr. Sharp became TTA (tibial tuberosity advancement) certified by Jeff Mayo, DVM, CVLS, Diplomate ABVP, in 2008 and now regularly performs TTA surgeries to correct cranial cruciate disease in dogs.

Dr. Sharp enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Leslie, daughter Alyssa, and pets, Layla (doberman), Max (African Grey Parrot) and Mikha (Maine Coon).

Dr. Leslie E. Block DVM-Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Block graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. A native of Yukon, Oklahoma, she moved to Arkansas after graduation and her engagement to Dr. Mark Sharp. After they purchased South County Animal Hospital and married, she became a full-time member of the team in 2002.

Her areas of interest are soft tissue surgery, ultrasonography, chemotherapy and internal medicine. She has extensive experience with exotic pets and is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Block's exotic practice includes birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, amphibians and rodents.

Dr. Block is married to Dr. Mark Sharp, and they are the proud parents of  their daughter, Alyssa. Also in their family is a doberman (Layla), a Maine Coon (Mikha) and an African Grey Parrot (Max).

Dr. Nicole L. Stec Phillips DVM-Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Stec was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  She graduated from Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.  She joined the South County Animal Hospital team as an associate on February 1, 2011.

Her primary interests are critical care, pain management, internal medicine and the human-animal bond.   She has experience with exotic pets.

Dr. Stec is a member of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and American Association of Equine Practitioners and is also a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians.

Dr. Stec enjoys jogging, riding hunter-jumper and dressage horses, and spending time with her family and her pride and joy a rescue boxer named “Sadie”

Dr. Trevor South DVM-Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. South is a Graduate of Greenwood High School.  He earned his Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University. He graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.  He joined the South County Animal Hospital team as an associate on October 3, 2011.

His primary interests are large animal medicine, equine podiatry, bovine and equine reproductive medicine.

Dr. South enjoys hunting, fishing, riding horses, and raising registered shorthorn cattle.
