Laboratory Services
South County Animal Hospital has a full-service in-house laboratory with the ability to run crucial tests immediately providing quick diagnosis and the best care for your animal. The following tests can be run by our clinic laboratory:
- Computerized Laser Complete Blood Counts (CBC)
- Computerized Serum Chemistry Panels
- Computerized Electrolyte Panels
- Computerized Urinalysis
- Computerized Semen Evaluation
- Fecal Exams
- Blood Glucose
- Parvovirus Tests
- Giardia Tests
- Heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lymes Tests
- Cytology
- Dermatophyte Culture (Ringworm)
In addition, South County Animal Hospital can collect and process samples for submission to an out-house laboratory such as:
- Biopsies/Histopathology
- DNA Testing
- Endocrinology testing (e.g. Thyroid, Cushing's, Addison's, Diabetes)
- Serological Tests (for diseases such as lepto, rocky mtn spotted fever, etc)
- Progesterone Assays (24-hour service)
- Bacterial Cultures & Sensitivities
(We use Antech Diagnostics and DVM Laboratories)
